Historic St. Charles MO
My dad next to an historical marker in St. Charles, MO
The family vacation joke was that if there was an historical marker near a trashcan, we would have to stop, read and then get our photo taken next to it. So when we came across this marker in St. Charles on Monday, I thought it necessary to continue the tradition.
We ate lunch at one of the many cafe type restaurants in St. Charles. This restaurant was an outlet for a local winery.
I ordered the goat cheese salad which was quite delicious (and a glass of the local Shiraz which also was yummy).
After lunch, a stop at a yarn shop for some sock yarn. And the weather was an astonishing 65 degrees...family, food, wine, and yarn....what a great vacation day!
Hey Susan... Happy New Year!! It looks like you had a wonderful time in St. Louis. The family photos are beautiful..of course!! I can honestly say.. this was the best Christmas Break I have had in a very long time.. thanks to lots of sangria, champagne, and apple martinis at several parties and simple get togethers!!! BTW I ordered new business cards!! I am preparing for a spectacular year!!

I am glad you had a good visit to St. Charles. I am even happier to know that you had a good meal at the Winery of the Little Hills Restaurant as I am one of the bartenders there. I am sad to say I do not think I was there on your visit because I was visiting my parents on my own vacation in Georgia.
