Seth and Devon pose on Confluence Point; the Mississippi River comes in from the left, the Missouri River from the right.
As we compared the difference in the currents of the two converging rivers, Seth noted, "Hey, Devon, you're the Missouri and I'm the Mississippi! The Missouri is a lot more active and the Mississippi is more calm." Such perception from a nine year old....(and a whole lot of truth too).

I looked up just in time to capture this moment and couldn't help but wonder just what they were discussing or if they were even talking at all. Seconds later they were off climbing the rocks, skipping stones, and just being boys (boys under supervision, mind you, but I did try not to interfere with the fun too much).

The scavenger hunt activity at the Museum paid off as Devon easily identifies real deer tracks while Seth skips stones on the Mississippi.
