On Monday, Maria and I visited Bellingrath Gardens, located just outside of Mobile AL. The rain subsided enough for me to get some photographs of the incomparable rose garden.

New Orleans

Camellia Grill, New Orleans LA

Drove with my BF Maria to New Orleans from her home in Gulfport this morning. Drove through the Garden District down St. Charles Street to the end of the trolley line. At the end of the line is Camellia Grill which I have photographed but had never had the pleasure of dining at (at which I've never the had the pleasure of dining?!)...until today that is. Their hamburgers are superb as are the their freezes made on fresh on the spot.

After lunch, a drive down Magazine street with a few stops at boutiques and antique shops in between rain drops.

As we waited for our room at the Windsor Court Hotel, we had complementary wine and are now looking forward to a four course dinner. LOTS of walking around the French Quarter tomorrow!

Although I've returned home, for the next several days, I will continue to post about my adventures in Paris and London on my other website Just Paris.  I hope you will visit me there :-)

Today I leave for a week in Paris with a jaunt to London.(yes, I DO know how fortunate I am :-)
I hope to  have the ability and/or opportunity to post while I am on vacation. The posts will be located at a blog which I began almost two years ago but have not updated in about the same amount of time.

As I thumbed through a stack of CDs looking for something work-related, I came across a CD of photos taken on a family trip to Ireland in 2001 (I think). My husband and I have been back several times since. Ah, how I miss it.[sigh]

We affectionately refer to this shrine as "Bridget in a Box."  The shrine is more widely known as "St. Bridget's Well" and is venerated for the water's reported healing properties. The waters are in a small stone cave-like structure that is filled with holy statues and a multitude of varied offerings left by visitors (everything imaginable: hairclips, holy cards, photographs, pacifiers, plastic flowers, rosary beads, crutches, pictures, and more).
