There once was a scribbler named Sooz
Who preferred wearing sandals to shoes
And when it was chilly
She donned socks, although silly
Unaffected by fashion hounds' views
Admittedly I am not a die-hard Birks girl that wears socks with sandals all winter but as soon as the temperatures rise, I am either in sandals or hiking boots. I especially love cork soled sandals like Birkinstocks or Mephistos because they actual mold themselves to your feet. And for watery areas, there are nothing like Tevas! I think they are worth the investment because both brands last for years. I still have my first pair of Tevas which I bought almost 10 years ago and wore almost every summer day for about 5 years.
But for hitting the trails, my hiking boots are a must because my toes are belligerently always hitting the rocks...the Tevas are ususally hanging from my backback just in case I need a change.
Sidenote: As you can see, the monkey (aka Rosie) copped a bit of an attitude during the photoshoot, but was much more cooperative than the cat.
lynn is referring to my comfy flannel sock monkey PJs which I pounced on at Tar-zhay...VERY Pretty Princess Diva!

Well, you did take her pajama's....or at least did some sort of copywrite infringement with her likeness on your jammies'.
(Now the whole world knows!!!)

P.S. my sandals met a kittie fate last fall, I'll be shopping on line for a new pair soon, we're almost in season for them here...

Such great photos! I love the sock monkey in her Timberlands...perfect pairing. Yes, there is a whole odd-ball Birks tribe out there--I loved this post, because I felt right at home...
