Saturday Conversations
In the last hour
I drank mediocre coffee in a local café
And recounted blueberry pancakes in another
In the last hour
I spoke with a friend --
She shared a truth I needed to hear
In the last hour
I listened (for a change) and resolved
To construct a plan (for change)
In the last hour
I heard a grandfather teach his young granddaughter
That he hadn't asked the question because he was upset with her
In the last hour
I repositioned myself as the sun filled the table
And began to warmly blind me
In the last hour
I thought about how love is blinding too
And how our eyes adjust with truth and change and probing questions
I really like all of this, the pace, and yes, the perspective, especially:
"In the last hour
I listened (for a change) and resolved
To construct a plan (for change)"
What a good idea.

I love the angle you take with the ending of this piece. Very good take with this week's prompt.
